Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Trivia

William Conrad was primarily a radio actor before this; he voiced Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke's radio version for nearly a decade.

Cultural

Cannon helped establish the 'maverick ex-cop' template later perfected by Magnum, P.I. and The Rockford Files—minus the charm, plus the gravitas.
