Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This is Iceland's most expensive animated film ever made, and it still looks like a very pretty video game cutscene. The director previously made 'The Deep,' a live-action survival film about a fisherman — he clearly has a type.
The golden plover is Iceland's national bird, making this essentially a patriotic blockbuster for 370,000 people. The real bird actually CAN fly, so this entire premise is bird propaganda.
