Vili fakes illness so he doesn't have to take a math test. Instead, he starts shooting at sparrows from the window with an air rifle. The kindly old lady who feeds the birds turns out to be a real-life fairy who tries to turn Vili into a good boy.

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Willy the Sparrow was Hungary's most expensive animated feature at the time, meant to compete with Disney—hence the surprisingly dark moral complexity that American family films avoided.
The original Hungarian title 'Vili, a veréb' literally means 'Vili the Sparrow'—the English dub renamed him Willy and gave him a whole new voice personality. Purists rage.
