Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Fong Sai Yuk is a real Cantonese folk hero, though the real historical figure probably didn't have this many wife problems. The 1993 release capitalized on Jet Li's post-Once Upon a Time in China stardom.
Josephine Siao was 45 playing Jet Li's mother despite being only 13 years older. She reportedly did many of her own stunts and accidentally kicked a stuntman unconscious during the gambling den fight.
