Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was originally planned as a direct-to-DVD release but Disney bumped it to theatres after John Lasseter became obsessed with aviation. It still feels like direct-to-DVD.
Dusty's design is based on the Air Tractor AT-502, and the filmmakers visited real cropduster pilots. The plane research exceeded the script development by approximately 400%.
