Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This live-action adaptation predates the 2014 Crystal reboot, making it the only live-action Sailor Moon officially produced—Toei considered it a risky experiment in the tokusatsu boom.
The actresses performed their own transformation sequences without CGI for the camera, leading to genuine exhaustion by episode 30—Keiko Kitagawa (Mars) later called it 'the most physically demanding job I've had.'
