Trivia

Mike Connors was Armenian-American; the character was originally named Joe Mannik and changed to sound less ethnic. Connors insisted on keeping his real heritage in interviews.

Cultural

Mannix's 1968-1975 run directly overlaps with the collapse of the Production Code and birth of the TV antihero—he's the missing link between Perry Mason and Dirty Harry.
