Standout Aspects

Acting

Fess Parker's impossibly warm screen presence — Disney's greatest weapon.

Production

"Living color" marketing that made green forests revolutionary television.

Costume

That hat. You know the hat. Everyone wanted that hat.

Best for:Family: Sunday afternoon nostalgia with actual relatives who remember this.·Background: Fold laundry to 165 episodes of Fess Parker being unreasonably decent.·Rewatch: Boomers revisiting their childhood; everyone else discovering the coonskin pipeline.
Heads up:Triggers: 1960s portrayal of Native Americans: well-intentioned for era, dated now.
