Drew Barrymore was 17 during filming and had to be emancipated from her parents to work the long hours. The snake was real and uncooperative.
This launched the 'Poison Ivy' franchise (three direct-to-video sequels) and belongs to that brief 1992-1995 window when 'Lolita but make her the villain' was somehow bankable.
