Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Belma Baş emerged from Turkey's DIY film scene, shooting Zephyr in her own grandparents' village with non-professional actors including family members.
The title 'Zephyr' means a gentle breeze—ironic given the protagonist's storm refusal to let go. The film inverts the coming-of-age formula: Zephyr doesn't grow into acceptance, she hardens into resistance.
