Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Mortier adapted this from his own 2004 novel, written after years documenting Flemish working-class despair through music videos and his band's lyrics.
The title refers to cannabis, yes, but also the animal — Liam's family lives in literal squalor, and he learns to spray emotional musk when cornered.
