Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Despite being set in Nevada, this was filmed in South Australia because apparently deserts are interchangeable. The production saved money and accidentally made the geography feel slightly 'off'—which weirdly helps the unease.
This aired on Lifetime in 2002, part of a brief wave of 'prestige' TV movies trying to compete with theatrical releases. It didn't work, but the ambition! The delusion!
