Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This 2012 Chichester production reignited Sondheim's reputation in UK musical theatre, transferring to the West End and proving the show works in intimate spaces, not just grand opera houses.
Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton had previously starred together in a concert version — their chemistry was so undeniable producers built this entire production around reuniting them.
