Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
O'Hara specifically crafted this as 'Get Out before Get Out'—exploring Black upper-class anxiety about bloodlines and belonging that Jordan Peele would later mainstream.
The film was shot in twelve days on a microbudget, with cast members doing their own stunts in freezing Connecticut conditions. Keith David reportedly improvised several of Uncle Melvin's most unsettling dinner toasts.
