Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Cultural

Released during the 1990s Filipino New Wave, when women directors finally told women's stories without male mediation — rare then, still rare now.

Insight

The title simply means 'Woman' — not 'Women,' singular collective, as if all female experience collapses into one shared wound across generations.
