Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Nagesh Kukunoor wrote the screenplay in English first, then translated to Hindi-Urdu hybrid to capture the Rajasthan-Kashmir cultural collision.
The film was inspired by Malayalam film 'Perumazhakkalam' (2004), but Kukunoor shifted focus from male guilt to female agency, making the second half entirely his invention.
