Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Part of West Germany's 1960s 'Schulmädchen-Report' era, when sex comedies flooded cinemas to compete with television. The '50,000th wedding' gimmick mirrors real corporate promotional stunts of the time.
Tony Marshall, who plays Maurice, became one of Germany's biggest schlager stars; this early role barely features his singing voice. Director Hans Hutter made only three films before vanishing from the industry.
