Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Trivia

Tom Keene was a real-life rancher before acting; that horseback comfort shows. This was one of five Westerns he made in 1933 alone.

Cultural

Made during the worst of the Depression, the 'stolen mine' plot hit different—audiences knew corrupt bosses and broken promises firsthand.
