Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This is part of Toei's 'Space Sheriff NEXT GENERATION' project, a 2014 initiative to revive the Metal Hero franchise for adult fans who grew up on 1980s tokusatsu—complete with theatrical releases and deliberately gritty tone shifts.
Koichi Sakamoto directed this between Kamen Rider Gaim episodes; his signature 'stunt-heavy, wire-work brutal' style here predates his later Power Rangers work but shares DNA with his Sentai episodes.
