Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This is a shot-for-shot remake of Richard Franklin's 1978 Ozploitation classic, with Hartley using the original script and even some matching camera angles.
The film sparked debate about whether lovingly remaking 'bad' movies celebrates or exploits Australia's exploitation legacy—Hartley called it 'a love letter written in blood.'
