Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The real Irene Castle served as technical advisor and hated that Rogers wore heels — she always danced in flat shoes.
The Castles popularized the foxtrot and made ballroom dancing respectable for the middle class — this film was nostalgia for a world already lost to WWII.
