Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was actually the SECOND Riverworld adaptation — a 2001 version with Brad Johnson in a different role also exists, because the Sci Fi Channel really wanted this to work.
Philip José Farmer's 12-book series was considered unfilmable for decades; this 86-minute solution was... a choice. The books span thousands of years and multiple resurrections.
