The film talks about a day in the life of an immigrant labourer named Sumangal. He leaves his current residence, assuring his wife Roja that "everything will be fine today". Sumangal gets into trouble with a young man by the name of Joseph in the area. Joseph is privileged because he is a native. During interrogation at the police station, Sumangal is identified as a refugee.
