Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was originally developed as a straight-to-video sequel before Swayze's involvement bumped it to theaters. It still feels like both.
The film shot in Puerto Rico, not Cuba, and Cuban critics noted it sidelined actual Cuban perspectives while using revolution as romantic obstacle. The 1950s Havana tourism it depicts was literally for wealthy Americans like Katey's family.
