Acting
Hopkins at 85, still devouring scenery with dentures.
Production
Freud's study: cluttered, claustrophobic, aggressively Viennese.
Director
Matt Brown
Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The real Lewis and Freud never met; the play/film invents their encounter entirely.
Released during Hopkins's late-career renaissance—between 'The Father' Oscar and 'Armageddon Time'—this continues his obsession with mortality and memory.

Watching this I'm remembering Anthony Hopkins playing C.S. Lewis in the movie Shadowlands. Interesting evolution for the actor.

I saw this as a two man play years ago and enjoyed it very much. Now it is a movie after all these years. How about that!
