Štigl modeled the town on actual Slovenian villages where everyone knows three versions of every death. The show became required viewing in Ljubljana film schools for its economy of exposition.
The corpse actor was never credited in promotional materials and wore different prosthetics for each timeline, leading to fan theories that multiple actors played the role. Štigl refuses to confirm.
