Talented and successful surgeon Daniel Milton has his world shattered when his wife Beth develops a fatal degenerative disease. The production couldn't secure filming rights in the real Temple station tunnels, so they built replica sets in Bulgaria based on extensive reference photography of London's actual abandoned Underground infrastructure.
The series arrived months before the UK's COVID-19 crisis, making its depiction of an overwhelmed surgeon driven to illegal practice feel almost prophetically uncomfortable in retrospect.
