Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The E1 receiver was real—Grundig's first mass radio, symbolizing how West German prosperity was built on Nazi-era industrial continuity.
Director Ute Wieland fought to shoot in Fürth itself; most exteriors are authentic 1950s architecture, not sets. The Hakenkreuz-free factory still stands.
