Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Trivia

Druridge Bay doubled for Wales because the actual Welsh coast couldn't accommodate the production's rocket logistics—ironically, the English location was more authentically desolate.

Cultural

The series arrived during a brief mid-2000s BBC fascination with 'quirky regional grief dramas'—think Monarch of the Glen with existential dread instead of tartan. It sank without trace, becoming genuine cult television.
