His dad's a pyramid-scheme fugitive, her parents are his victims — wedding planning just got WILD.
Season 1 • Episode 20
LatestOne day Dima met Julia, and they fell in love with each other. Yulia is a girl from a simple family, and Dima is the son of the oligarch Boris Chuikin. Only no one knows about this, because Dima does not bear his father's surname, is not proud of him and earns his own living. It's getting to the wedding, when suddenly his whole crazy family bursts into the life of the future newlyweds, or rather into Dima's cozy apartment: his father, who is wanted for organizing a construction pyramid, an eccentric mother and an arrogant sister. But even worse, Yulia's parents are shareholders deceived by Boris Chuikin. Now Dima needs not only to reconcile the two families, but also to feed the runaway relatives who are used to not denying themselves anything.
Acting
Zhigunov's slimy oligarch dad energy is *chef's kiss* hateable.

Twenty episodes of escalating familial disaster, impressively sustained.
Production
Cozy apartment becomes chaos arena — great single-location pressure cooker.
Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Released during Russia's 2016 economic slump, the oligarch-as-buffoon trope let audiences laugh at wealth without directly confronting power structures. Very specific post-Soviet coping mechanism.
Zhanna Epple (the mom) was a massive 90s soap star — casting her as chaotic aristocracy was deliberate nostalgia bait for older Russian audiences.
