Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Russian prestige TV has exploded post-2015, with series exploring taboo subjects that would've been impossible in earlier eras. This sits alongside 'Better Than Us' and 'To the Lake' as state-backed but socially transgressive.
The 8.5 rating with only 8 votes suggests either passionate niche fandom or coordinated early promotion—classic pattern for Russian series with limited international distribution but strong domestic word-of-mouth.
