Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Harry Thompson died of lung cancer in 2005; the show died with him. Co-creator Shaun Pye later created 'There She Goes' — about his daughter with severe learning difficulties — proving he had actual human emotions somewhere.
Monkey Dust aired during BBC Three's experimental early years, when the channel had license to fail spectacularly. Thompson's death and the show's cancellation created instant cult status — you had to pirate it for nearly two decades.
