This was Disney's attempt to keep the DuckTales audience as they aged, essentially inventing the 'aged-up sequel' trope that would later dominate YA adaptations.
Fans largely rejected the character redesigns and attitude shift; the show was cancelled after one season, and Disney later retconned Quack Pack entirely in the 2017 DuckTales reboot.
