LatestSharon, Maria, Alden and Brock go away to Enviro-Camp and Sharon thinks one of the counselors, Alex, likes her. Sharon likes him - a lot! But unknown to Sharon, Alden has come to realize that he still has deep feelings for her. And the more Alden tries to let Sharon know how he feels, the more she thinks that Alex just might be the guy for her.
The show, set in Elkford, British Columbia, is based around Sharon Spitz, who is a junior high school student with braces that get in her way of leading a normal teenage life. In the first season, she is enrolled at Mary Pickford Junior High.

Braceface was a rare Canadian-American co-production that actually felt distinctly Canadian, with Elkford based on real BC mountain towns and CBC airing it before Nickelodeon picked it up stateside.
Creator Melissa Clark originally pitched it as a live-action series; the brace-magnetism was added to justify animation budget and explain why Sharon never got properly fitted orthodontics.
