LatestTrouble erupts down at the pub as 'The Count' makes a play for control of the pokies and a blood bath ensues. Red and Lou must find a way to keep the peace while retaining their own ten percent.
Police officers Lilywhite and Knutt (the "bad cop, bad cop" of the title) are hopelessly incompetent. Lafever is their friend, a lawyer with a relaxed attitude to the goings-on. Police graft, corruption and brutality are satirised in a very dry comic fashion, and with a stream of matter-of-fact obscenities.
Writing
Dialogue so dry you'll need a drink. The obscenities are poetry.
Acting
Caton and Wyllie's chemistry — two disasters in a pod.

This is classic '90s-'00s ABC comedy DNA — think Frontline's bastard cousin with a badge. Ian David cut his teeth on Police Rescue, so he knew exactly which procedures to mock.
The title's grammar joke ('bad cop, bad cop' vs. 'good cop, bad cop') was apparently pitched after a few beers. It stuck because nobody could think of anything better.
