As he awaits the Silla army to attack, Dal receives a letter from King Jinheung instead.

Goguryeo was one of Korea's Three Kingdoms, and Pyeonggang is loosely based on Princess Pyeonggang from the Gwanggaeto Stele—though the real history definitely didn't include this much romantic angst.
The original actor playing On Dal (Ji Soo) was replaced by Na In-woo after episode 6 due to bullying allegations, forcing massive reshoots. The production literally rebuilt scenes with a new lead mid-air.
