Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
One of few Norwegian films centering Pakistani diaspora experiences without trauma porn — Tehrani grew up in Oslo's Tøyen neighborhood where the film is set.
The title 'Lytt Opp!' ('Listen Up!') mirrors how Ali's coming out forces a family that talks over each other to finally hear someone. The Norwegian title wordplay on 'lytt' (listen) and 'løgn' (lie) was lost in translation.
