Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Gus Kenworthy, the former Olympic skier, took the role specifically to subvert his wholesome athletic image.
The 1971 setting deliberately evokes the Manson Family trials' media saturation, when 'cult' became America's favorite nightmare.

A lot better than I expected...I recommend if you're looking for a fun movie that doesn't slow down and isn't over-the-top campy.

Movie isn't that bad. The only problem is there are a few twists that you see coming. The writers foreshadowed too much, threw way too many hints at you, and didn't even try to distract you from it. Otherwise the ending was a pretty good spin on the cliche of what you usually end up with in this type of movie. I like what they did with the ending. It's a decent fun Christmas horror.
