Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Despite the American title and star, this was a Spanish-Italian co-production filmed near Madrid, making it technically part of the spaghetti western boom.
Audie Murphy was already the most decorated American soldier of WWII when he became a western star—his real-life heroism oddly mirrored his stoic on-screen personas.
