This is technically the third Parker adaptation after 'Point Blank' (1967) and 'Payback' (1999), though Black fought to keep the name this time. Mel Gibson was approached for a cameo that would've created a weird multiverse moment.
The fictional South American country of Cortega was filmed in Dominican Republic locations previously used for 'The Fast and the Furious' — Black reportedly called it 'stealing from thieves who stole.'
