Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Chen Bolin was already a massive star across Asia; this role cemented his 'ideal boyfriend' image that haunted him for years. He reportedly found it exhausting.
The film rode the wave of early 2010s Taiwanese idol dramas flooding mainland China, where Ariel Lin was already queen of the 'quirky heroine' archepe. Its 4.0 TMDB score reflects Western disinterest, not its actual regional popularity.
