Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This film belongs to the 'xia ping' genre — Cantonese pulp adaptations that dominated 1950s-60s Hong Kong cinema, often featuring resourceful women outsmarting male criminals.
Yu So-Chau (Wong Ang) was a major Cantonese opera star who transitioned to film; her martial background made fight scenes unusually convincing for the era.
