Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Director Gorman Bechard shot this in his actual apartment building in New Haven, Connecticut. The 'film within a film' scenes use real local public access TV footage.
This is basically what happens when a film school kid watches 'Black Christmas' and 'Maniac' back-to-back while obsessing over his own twin fantasy. Franklin's rant about 'real cinema' predates toxic Letterboxd bros by decades.
