Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
George Sand (born Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin) wrote this in 1848; 'champi' is Berry dialect for 'foundling,' and she based it on real orphan legends from her native region.
Lazare Iglesis directed over 100 TV movies for French television; this was one of his rare literary adaptations that escaped obscurity thanks to Marie Dubois's performance.
