Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The 'Concorde' name was chosen because it means 'agreement'—ironic given the Anglo-French bickering over spelling (Concord vs. Concorde).
The 2000 crash occurred exactly 25 years after the first commercial flight, and Air France retired the fleet just three years later.
