Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was Prabhu Deva's second Tamil directorial after the blockbuster Pokkiri, and he reportedly shot the Kolkata portions in actual college locations without permits.
The film's North Chennai slang and Kolkata setting created a unique linguistic mashup that Tamil audiences found novel, though critics called the geography nonsensical.
