Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The film weaponizes Spanish economic precarity—Eric's unemployment and housing dependence mirror real post-2008 crises, making his 'escape' hit different.
Mistress Gise's mansion is shot like a horror film location because it IS one—the film treats BDSM not as titillation but as another exploitation economy Eric doesn't understand.
