Overview

Drama

Our story follows him during the Holidays as he desperately tries to regain everything he has lost in his life; his wife and child, his job, and his pride, before it's too late. Over the course of one day on New Years Eve in New York City, a young vibrant woman, Freebird, shows him how to stand up, discover himself and move on with his life.

Practical Effects

NYC streets shot guerrilla-style, no permits no problem.

Best for:Solo: When you're hungover questioning every life choice.·Streaming: 3 AM curiosity about Alan Ruck's post-Ferris slump.
Heads up:Drug Use: Multiple heroin use scenes, fairly graphic for the runtime.·Triggers: Ryan Dunn's presence hits different post-2011.

Trivia

Ryan Dunn filmed this months before his fatal car crash in June 2011, making his brief appearance as a drug dealer unintentionally haunting.

Cultural

This micro-budget indie epitomizes the 2010s 'mumblecore grief' trend, where every Holiday season needed at least one junkie redemption arc set against twinkling lights.
