Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Post-Soviet Russian TV movies of the 2000s often used exotic locations as status fantasy—Acapulco here functions as shorthand for 'we made it, kinda.'
Director Oksana Bayrak built her career on precisely this formula: photogenic stars, foreign beaches, relationship chaos. This is her comfort zone and she knows it.
