Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
James Karen was 88 during filming, bringing genuine fragility to the role. This was one of his final performances before his death in 2018.
Released in 2011, this predated mainstream Hollywood's 'queer reconciliation' trend by nearly a decade — and packs more honesty into 22 minutes than most studio attempts.
